Hey, I'm Liza.

I'm super passionate about fashion, business and technology - also sometimes known as "Fashion 2.0". I'm in the process of launching a new business, Style Startups, that will track and explore those companies.

I just retired from a Managing Partner position at my last company, Lullabot, a technology start-up that I helped bootstrap from 2 guys with an idea up to 30 full time people and a solid gold client base. Using Drupal (kind of like Wordpress for super-complex websites), we built websites for great companies like Sony Music, The Grammys, & Martha Stewart - and we taught thousands of people how to use the technology.

I've also been able to help a little here and there with some other cool companies. I'm one of the co-founders of Buzzr, a super easy website building platform built on Drupal. I've consulted for Rapid Waters Development (a Drupal shop - later acquired by Lullabot), Galvanize.us (a mobile social gifting platform), and sit on the advisory boards of Parker&Blake (a rocking online vintage accessories store) and WebEBP (an online psychology counseling platform).

I really love helping cool people with good ideas to build solid, kick-ass businesses.

Prior to my move into technology, I worked for a decade in fashion and the arts. I had my own clothing boutique, produced a couple of dozen professional fashion shows - for that boutique and clients such as Macy's & Ralph Lauren Children, worked as a modeling scout, and did a brief stint as Fashion Editor of an alternative paper in Denver. I conceived & produced an event called "The Grey Market" that was an annual weekend-long pop-up department store for indie designers. I was a founding board member and the inaugural Events Chair of "Art Noir", an events-driven non-profit board at The Des Moines Art Center focused on engaging young professionals in the arts. Also while in Des Moines, I served on the non-profit board for The Metro Arts Alliance and helped found FAD (The Des Moines Fashion Alliance).

In addition to posting here, I also love to speak. You can find me some other places on the web as well: here's my Twitter feed, my Tumblr site, and my LinkedIn Profile.

I live in New York City, and am mom to a very bad-ass 11 year old.
