Nika and I had an argument the other day about technology. It went like this:
She wanted to call someone. My cell service SUCKS. I haven't had a land line since before she was born (1999), so she's not used to anything except mobile phones.
I use Vonage for work. Since I couldn't get a signal (a common occurrence, doesn't bode well for me wanting to buy the otherwise ethereal iPhone) I suggested that she use my Vonage phone. It looks and works just like a regular cordless phone.
She dialed the number. She hit TALK. She heard a dial tone. She handed the phone to me and told me that it was broken.
I handed it back and told her to dial TALK, wait for the dial tone, and *then* dial the number. She informed me that I was having delusions, phones don't work that way. I insisted she try. She repeated her earlier exercise. Same results, obviously.
She put the phone back. She told me to let her know when one of the phones was working.
LOL!
