I am heading out to give a talk at ISU tonight to a Fashion Production class. I agreed to give it if I could also touch on some social media stuff that has taken more of my time lately than fashion. (Okay, all of it.)
I'll update this post later with some info about how the talk went. Meanwhile, here are the slides!

I am currently slow cooking pears in a quart of vodka so that I can make these gorgeous drinks. I already made rosemary-infused simple syrup, and I'll puree those fabulous pears and mix 'em all in together with some sparkling water. Something to be thankful for! Banksy is one of my favorite living artists (and I am certainly not alone in that). He is most well known for his political graffiti art, as well as sneaking into museums and installing his own art.
He recently did a "pop-up" art installation. The concept of "pop-up" is something that has been really popular in recent years, with retailers, marketers, and artists. I really like the concept, as I feel it places things in a certain time and place, and plans to end even before it begins. I get off on that.
Banksy's pop-up was called the "Village PetStore & Charcoal Grill in NY", and it is just insane. You've got to watch the video to believe it. (via JP + NOTCOT.)
